What happens at a review of an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP)?

The IFSP may be renewed annually, depending on the goals. It is reviewed every six months at an Early Childhood Team (ECT) meeting to look at progress towards those goals. Members of the ECT give progress reports at the meetings. If the child is still eligible, the team reviews the goals and changes the IFSP.

Reviews can take place more frequently if necessary, or if the family requests it. Any ECT member, including the parent, can request that CDS set up a meeting. Only the ECT can change the terms of the IFSP.

For more information about what an IFSP contains, what/who to bring to an IFSP meeting, and other information, please refer to the websites in the Other Useful Links section of this toolkit.
