Marketing

Interested in recruiting people with disabilities to your facility? Here are some easy tips to help you with your new marketing venture.

  • Contact inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities and other organizations that support persons with disabilities.
  • Leave your fitness center brochures in places that offer recreational support for people with disabilities, such as therapeutic horseback riding centers or handicap ski centers.
  • Meet with local support groups to alert them about your facility.
  • Giving therapists and social workers free passes to your facility will lead to future referrals for your fitness center. Give them a chance to try it out first-hand. If they know that a facility is accessible, they can refer clients there comfortably.
  • When offering a fitness center that is accessible to people with disabilities, keep in mind that some people may have financial barriers. Consider offering sliding scales for payments, waiving the sign-up fee, or giving free trial passes.
