Home Style Renovation Mortgage

Fannie Mae is a national, federally-supported program that insures loans from certain local Maine banks.  The first step in this process is to find out if your bank provides Fannie Mae Home Style Renovation loans. Next, you would apply for the loan from the bank and at the same time, complete an application for Fannie Mae loan insurance.  Expect that the process, as with any federal program, will take longer than usual.  The advantage is that the interest rates are usually much lower and, because the loan is guaranteed, the bank is usually happy for the business.
