Home and Community-Based Waiver Services for Persons with Mental Retardation

This is part of a larger, long-term care program that involves a thorough assessment of all your needs and provides a range of services.  One of the services that is included is home modification support up to $7,500 within a five year period.  Once the cap is reached, $300 per year may be allowable for repair, replacement or additional modifications.

Eligibility

The client must be:

  • Eligible for MaineCare (Medicaid),
  • Receiving Mental Retardation Services or Children's services through OACPDS,
  • Medically eligible for an ICF/MR (Intermediate Care Facility for persons with Mental Retardation)
