Size of the Screen

The View button changes the size of the web page. This button lets you to make text larger to see it better. You can also make it smaller so that you can view a whole line without scrolling. Click on View and move your cursor down to Text Size. Then move your cursor to the right. It will say “Larger, Large, Medium, Small, Smaller. Move the cursor over the size that you want. The screen will adjust to the size you choose. You may want to try different sizes to see which one is best for you. Don’t be surprised if the words and pictures are re-arranged on the screen when the screen is set to a larger size.

Other Ways to Enlarge the Font Size

You can change your computer so that everything that your screen always shows everything larger. Different computers do this in different ways. You may need to ask for assistance from someone who is knowledgeable about computers. Here is some basic information for Windows based computers, the most common kind.

  1. Click on the Start button and find Control Panel. Find Display and double-click on it. Find Appearance and click on it. Where it says Font Size change the setting to Large or Very large. This will change all the text, menus, and dialog boxes, etc., to a larger font size.
  2. Also in the Control Panel and Display section is something called Settings. Click on Settings and change the resolution to 800 X 600 pixels. This is the largest size.
  3. Another option is the Magnifier feature. Not all computers have this. Look for it under Accessories. (Start Button – All Programs – Accessories – Accessibility). This tool enlarges the font size greatly. But it is really only useful to read short passages.
