Other Resources for Adult Respite

While exploring resources for respite services for adults, it is worth contacting your Area Agency on Aging (AAA).  The five AAA's across the state participate in a program called Maine Family Caregiver Program.  Each AAA offers different services.  In general the programs provide:

  • care giver group training
  • public education
  • one-on-one sessions to explore opportunities and services
  • counseling and support groups
  • limited respite dollars for a one-time-only use
